Position Description – Sunshine Coast Driver/Coxswain

Reports to : Operations Manager

 

 

Summary of the Role:

The main focus of the role of Driver/Coxswain is to drive the Aquaduck on the road and water in a safe and efficient way to ensure the customer experience is a positive one.

The role of the  Driver/Coxswain is to provide safe transportation for guests and are solely responsible for all aspects involving the operation of the Aquaduck.

All staff are required to constantly look for ways to enhance the customer experience and improve the efficiency of the business.

 

Driver/Coxswain (“Drivers”) Job Duties:

  • An Aquaduck driver’s primary responsibility is to know the exact route of the tour which the bus is supposed to take.
  • Drivers responsible for picking up and dropping off passengers as required.
  • An Aquaduck driver is required to know the commentary and interact with the tour guide to ensure the customers experience the best it can be.
  • An Aquaduck driver is also responsible for completing pre tour checks and reporting any issues to the Operations Manager or Mechanic on shift.
  • It is the responsibility of the Aquaduck driver to see to the fact that every passenger is safe during the tour and all the traffic/water rules and regulations are followed.
  • It is the responsibility to know and follow all company policies and procedures including the Aquaduck Safety Management System.
  • It is the responsibility of the Aquaduck driver to see whether or not all passengers are comfortable and are provided with the first aid kit in the time of need.
  • Ensuring the safe operation of the Aquaduck and report any incidents.
  • Ensure that any major faults are reported to Mechanic on shift as soon as they happen.
  • Assisting guests as they embark and disembark the Aquaduck.
  • Maintaining all required Department of Transportation paperwork on a daily basis, including Vehicle Inspection Report and Driver Log Book.
  • The Aquaduck Drivers’ primary responsibility is SAFETY.
  • Drivers are required to be punctual and professional.
  • To cover other driver shifts when absent.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager.

 

 

General

  • Drivers are required to be in uniform, professional and provide exceptional customer service at all time.
  • Drivers are required to interact with the Deckhands/Tour Guides on a professional level at all times.
  • Supports the Operations Manager as required.
