Surfers Paradise, fondly referred to as ‘Surfers’ by locals is the heart of the Gold Coast for locals and tourists alike. Surfers is situated on the South East Coast of Queensland between the Nerang River and the Pacific Ocean. The first holidaymakers started enjoying the beauty of area, now known as Surfers Paradise from as early as 1880. The first hotel was built in 1887.

Today, holidaymakers love Surfers Paradise for a number of reason; the beach, with 3 kilometres of stunning golden sandy beaches that is walking distance from the main area of Surfers Paradise. The crystal blue water is usually warm and inviting with surf life savers on patrol everyday.

The main area of Surfers is Cavill Avenue which has a pedestrian mall lines with shops, restaurants and attractions. Cavill Avenue is open day and night often with buskers, street entertainers and live events going on. It’s a great place to grab an ice cream and people watch.

The Surfers Paradise foreshore comes to life every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night (4pm to 9pm) as the famous night markets deliver over 100 stalls selling everything from handmade jewellery to locally produced Beef Jerky. You can even make a mould of your hand in wax to take home as a souvenir.

Surfers Paradise is a hive of activity day and night. There are more than 300 cafes, restaurants and bars offering a vast array of tasty delights in Surfers Paradise with new ones opening weekly. So you will never have any trouble eating a great meal, mind you deciding on where to eat takes up a lot of time!

Surfers has 7 great attractions to entertain the family on hot or rainy days. Or even when you just want to get out of the sun and enjoy some air con. These are all a very short walk from Cavill Avenue with very reasonable entry fees.
